
If you need to check quickly how well the Internet connection of one of your pfSense routers is doing , why not use Speedtest ? And this just requires installing a small package on the machine.

Proceeding is quite easy :
– log on the pfSense machine via serial port or SSH
– access the shell (press 8)
– run pkg install py27-speedtest-cli
– exit the shell (with “exit”)
– go back to the shell and type speedtest-cli et voilaaaa. :
